Tigers Clinch Lead In Sixth Inning for State Quarterfinal Victory Over Park

Farmington snagged a late lead and defeated Park 3-2 on Tuesday in the MSHSL Class AAAA State Baseball quarterfinal game.

Park got on the board in the first inning. Park scored two runs when Micah Runion singled. The Wolfpack maintained the lead until the bottom of the sixth inning.

In the sixth inning, Ethan Coyer lit the fire the Tigers needed when he doubled on a fly ball to left field. Dom Vogel followed with a single on a fly ball. Drew Conrad then singled to right advancing Vogel to 3rd and scored Coyer.

The game was tied at two with Farmington still at bat in the bottom of the sixth when Mason Conrad singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, giving the Tigers the 3-2 lead.
 
 

The pitching was strong on both sides. Zach Dohrmann struck out seven, while Brady Drkula sat down seven.

Dohrmann pitched Farmington to victory. The ace surrendered two runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Drkula was on the pitcher's mound for Park. Drkula surrendered three runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out seven.

Drew Conrad led Tigers the with three hits in three at bats.

Park was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Will Smoot made the most plays with nine.

The #1 seeded Tigers will now play #4 Maple Grove on Wednesday, June 15 at 12:00 pm back at CHS Field for a chance to play in the Class AAAA State Championship game.
