Farmington jumped out to an early lead over Rochester Century and took home a 5-1 victory on Wednesday.
The win advances the Tigers to the semifinal round of the Section 1 AAAA tournament where they will play #2 Lakeville South in Red Wing on Saturday, June 4.
Farmington scored on a walk by
Connor Weed and a sacrifice fly by
Ethan Coyer in the first inning.
Hunter Frost took the win for the Tigers . Frost went five innings, allowing one run on seven hits, striking out seven and walking zero.
Tyler Borlik threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Borlik recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Farmington .
Peyton Milene led things off on the mound for Century. The pitcher surrendered two runs on one hit over one inning, striking out two. Michael Rand and Matt Haun entered the game from the bullpen, throwing four innings and one inning respectively.
The Tigers smacked one home run on the day.
Drew Conrad had a homer in the fourth inning.
Connor Weed led the Tigers with two hits in two at bats. Farmington was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
Dom Vogel made the most plays with 12.
Century collected eight hits on the day. Milene and Jerry Fletcher each managed multiple hits for Century. Milene went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Century in hits.
Century didn't commit a single error in the field. Harrison Esau had the most chances in the field with six.
