Coach Sutton is entering his 40th year of coaching football; 32nd as a head coach and 2nd year as Co-Head Coach at Farmington. He has served as head coach at Cottonwood, Brooklyn Center, Mankato West, Eagan and Farmington High Schools. His 1999 and 2002 teams at Mankato West were state champions. He was inducted into the Minnesota Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2017.
He also coached Track and Field for 30 years at four high schools, winning one MSHSL team championship and two True Team state championships.
A retired English teacher, he and his wife Carmon reside in Rosemount. They have two adult daughters and two grandchildren.
