Thomas Macmillan

Coach Thomas was born and raised in Oxford, England and now lives with his wife and two sons in Farmington, MN.

Thomas has been involved in soccer since he could walk and started his coaching career shortly after college. He has devoted the majority of his adult life to soccer as a coach, personal trainer, and referee. He holds a USSF National C License along with a USC Advanced National Licence, with various other certifications to fine-tune his soccer education. For the past 7 years, he has worked at Salvo Soccer Club as a head coach with various teams.

Currently working as a Girl's Academy coach, the highest level of girls' soccer in the country, he enjoys the intensity and competition available to his team as they travel the country and compete. Within the high school setting Thomas climbed the ranks quickly, starting only 5 years ago.

He began his career with 3 years as a Sophomore Coach at Lakeville South HS, 1 year as the JV coach at St. Thomas, and last year becoming the Varsity Coach here at Farmington High School. Eager to see his teams succeed, he continues to focus on his personal education of the sport in both formal and informal settings, study leadership and growth mindset books, and attempt new strategies to build relationships with his players, staff, and parents.
