Farmington High School

Jeff Udell

Jeff Udell was bitten by the acting bug back in first grade.  Throughout K-12, college and in the local community, Jeff has loved acting, singing, producing, directing and critiquing plays, musicals and one acts.  While he is a computer software developer with over 20 years of experience, he is currently focusing his talents as a Senior Quality Assurance analyst for a Long-Term Care Insurance company.  He has lived in Farmington with his wife, Jodie, since 2006.  They have two children, Tyler (FHS senior this year) and Mikaela (in 8th grade at Levi P. Dodge Middle School).  Jeff is actively involved with the FHS Theater Boosters and is currently the Concessions Co-Director and board member of the FHS Tiger Fan Club.
Jeff looks forward to directing the cast of the 2023-2024 Farmington High School One Act.  An expectation is to compete our One Act against other High School One Act groups locally, sectionally and statewide in the Minnesota State High School League One Act contest.  This year the selected FHS One Act will be the hilarious farce, “The Medicine Show” or “How to Succeed In Medicine Without Really Trying”, by Virginia Glasgow Koste (Produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY, INC., of Woodstock, Illinois).  The one act play is derived from Moliere’s zesty French comedy “Le Medicin Malgre Lui”, more commonly called “The Doctor In Spite of Himself”, originally written in 1666.
Jeff is anxiously awaiting the auditions on November 20th and 21st for “The Medicine Show” and is looking most forward to working with the nine-member cast on character development, exploring character back stories, acting and reacting, physical comedy and comedic timing.  As the chosen show is a farce, it will also be a blast exploring the highly exaggerated, absurd and improbable situations that are taken to extremes.  Expect an invitation to see the show in mid-January 2024.
