Farmington suffered a 1-0 defeat to the South Suburban-leading Rosemount in extra time on Thursday.
Â
Both teams had stellar play in net for the first half as
Alex Giddings made numerous saves and
Colin Leech's scoring chance was denied on the other side of the field.
Â
Leech had another similar scoring chance in the second half, but was also denied by the opposing keeper once again. The match remained scoreless at the end of regulation.
Â
In the closing minute of the first period of extra time, Giddings was screened in front and the deciding goal came whistling by. That would be the lone score of the night as the Tigers fell to 5-6-2 on the season, but proved they can hang with the top of the conference.
