Baseball Defeats Eagan Despite Allowing 4-Run Inning

Even though Farmington gave up four runs in the first inning, they still defeated Eagan 20-7 on Wednesday, April 13. Fenske, Huseman, and Esser all drove in runs in the frame.

Bats blistered as the Tigers collected ten hits and Eagan tallied four in the high-scoring game.

Farmington got things started in the first inning. Connor Weed grounded out, scoring one run.

Farmington pulled away for good with 12 runs in the second inning. In the second, Gabe Bombardier singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Dom Vogel drew a walk, scoring one run, Mason Conrad doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, #12 threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for the Tigers, Matt Hinnenkamp doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs, Bombardier singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Conrad was hit by a pitch, driving in a run, Kyle Hrncir was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Weed drew a walk, scoring one run.

Hrncir led the Tigers to victory on the mound. The bulldog lasted three innings, allowing three hits and six runs while striking out four. Tyler Borlik threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Borlik recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Farmington.

Lindberg started the game for Eagan. The pitcher allowed two hits and five runs over one inning. Fenske and #12 entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and two innings respectively.

Farmington tallied ten hits. Conrad and Bombardier each collected multiple hits for the Tigers. Bombardier and Conrad each collected two hits to lead Farmington.

Fenske went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Eagan in hits. Eagan didn't commit a single error in the field. Martin had the most chances in the field with five.
