Connor Weed was bad news for opposing pitchers on Thursday, April 28, driving in four on one hit to lead Farmington past Eastview 14-5. Weed drove the runs in on a triple in the sixth.
Farmington grabbed an early lead. The Tigers scored on a single by
Luke Walton, a single by
Mason Conrad, an error during Weed's at bat, and a fielder's choice by
Sawyer Hoffman in the second inning.
Farmington pulled away for good with seven runs in the second inning. In the second Walton singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, Conrad singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, an error scored three runs for Farmington, and Cox induced Hoffman to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
Kyle Hrncir was the winning pitcher for the Tigers. Hrncir went three and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out five.
Ethan Coyer threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Coyer recorded the last ten outs to earn the save for Farmington.
Farmington saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game. Walton, Conrad, Hrncir, and
Gabe Bombardier each managed multiple hits for Farmington. Bombardier, Hrncir, Conrad, and Walton each collected two hits to lead the Tigers.
