After winning just two matches last year, new Head Coach
Thomas Macmillan has Farmington off to a 1-0-0 start to the new year after Farmington toppled Owatonna 1-0 in shocking, late-game fashion.
Â
After a 30 minute delay, the 2022 Soccer season commenced with a hard-fought 0-0 draw after forty minutes.
Logan Opsahl got the shooting going with a laser from twenty yards away that just grazed the top of the crossbar.
Â
Owatonna controlled a majority of the possession and shot taking for the rest of the half. Collin Leech and
Kalvin Rossate both were booked with a yellow card, but the substitutes stepped up to keep the Huskies scoreless in the first half.
Â
Both Goal Keepers were forced to showcase their glove work early in the second half. Jack Rosa had an early chance from the right side of the box. Alex Gidding made the save of the night for the Tigers halfway thru the crucial second half.
Â
The game was won in the final 3 minutes of the contest when Opsahl served a beautiful cross into the heart of the box and Man of the Match
Jacob Kiage just beat the outstretched glove of the keeper to bury the lone goal of the match.
