Baldus Throws Complete Game Shutout; Tigers Win 1-0

Farmington, Minn. -- In a tense SSC matchup on a chilly Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field, the Farmington Tigers secured a narrow 1-0 victory over the Shakopee Sabers.

The game remained deadlocked until the bottom of the 7th inning when Dalton Kesti drew a crucial walk. Josh Berreth followed up with a double, advancing Kesti to third base. The winning run came courtesy of Tanner Rezny's clutch infield single, allowing Kesti to cross home plate.

The early innings saw both teams struggling to gain traction, with solid pitching performances keeping the game scoreless. The Sabers were held in check by Farmington's pitching, with strikeouts and groundouts limiting their offensive opportunities. Meanwhile, the Farmington Tigers' bats were also quiet, unable to capitalize on scoring chances in the early frames.

As the game progressed, tension mounted with each passing inning. Both teams battled fiercely, but it was the Tigers who managed to break the deadlock in the final inning. Despite the Sabers' efforts, they were unable to mount a comeback in the top of the 7th, leaving the Tigers with the opportunity to secure the win.

With one out in the bottom of the 7th, Farmington's Dalton Kesti drew a pivotal walk, setting the stage for the Tigers' late-game heroics. Josh Berreth's well-placed double put runners in scoring position, and Tanner Rezny's timely infield single drove in the game-winning run, sealing the victory for the Tigers in dramatic fashion.

Once again, the star of the show was Joe Baldus who pitched a complete game shutout that included 12 strikeouts.
