ROSEMOUNT, Minn. -- The Farmington Tigers boys soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against the Rosemount Irish on September 19. While still searching for their first win of the season, the Tigers' performance against a strong Rosemount squad demonstrated solid play across the board.
Despite the scoreless outcome, Farmington's defense held firm throughout the match, facing eight shots on goal from Rosemount while limiting them to just one corner kick. Goalkeeping and backline coordination were key in denying any scoring chances from the Irish, who controlled 58% of possession and kept the ball in Farmington's half for much of the game.
Offensively, the Tigers managed three shots on goal, though none found the back of the net. Farmington was efficient with set pieces, earning four corner kicks, but couldn't convert those opportunities into points. Passing accuracy was another area of focus, with the Tigers completing 194 total passes but only achieving 36% overall accuracy. In the attacking third, Farmington struggled to connect, completing just 16% of their passes.
Farmington's effort in possession—holding the ball for 16 minutes and 52 seconds, or 41.6% of the match—demonstrated that the team is finding ways to build from the back, but their attack needs further refinement as they look for their first win of the season. Their resilience against Rosemount is a sign of improvement as they continue their campaign.
