Baseball Walks Off New Prague, Extends Win Streak to Four

FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers continued their early-season surge with a 3-2 walk-off win over New Prague on Friday afternoon at Tiger Field. The win—Farmington's fourth straight—pushed the Tigers to 4-1 on the season and marked a key victory over a Section 1AAAA opponent.

RECAP
With the game tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Brandon Lund delivered in the clutch. The senior drove a single into the outfield to score the game-winning run and secure a dramatic walk-off victory for the Tigers.

Farmington opened the scoring in the bottom of the first when Marshall Gordon grounded out to bring home a run. Lund extended the lead to 2-0 in the second with a line-drive RBI single down the left field line.

New Prague battled back in the fifth, capitalizing on a defensive miscue and an RBI single by Karder Schmoll to even the score. From there, both teams settled in defensively, with strong pitching and timely outs keeping the game locked until the bottom of the seventh.

Lund not only provided the walk-off hit, but also went the distance on the mound. He scattered four hits and allowed two unearned runs across seven innings, striking out seven and walking one to earn the win.
