Baseball Tops Rosemount 3-2, Stays Perfect in SSC Play

FARMINGTON, Minn. – In a tightly contested South Suburban Conference matchup on Monday night, the Farmington Tigers came through in the clutch to defeat the Rosemount Irish 3-2 at Tiger Field. The Tigers broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning and held on late to improve to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in SSC play.

RECAP
With the game knotted at 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Marshall Gordon drew a bases-loaded walk that brought in the go-ahead run and gave the Tigers a lead they would not relinquish. It was Gordon's second RBI of the night, following an earlier run-scoring single in the third inning that opened the scoring for Farmington.

Rosemount responded in the fifth, tying the game on a two-run double by Jake Michel, but Farmington's pitching and defense held strong down the stretch.

Joe Baldus got the start for the Tigers, striking out seven over 4.1 innings while allowing four hits and two runs, one of them unearned. Caden Lock earned the win in relief, tossing 1.2 innings of one-hit ball with one strikeout. Ethan Hagman closed it out, earning the save to secure Farmington's fourth straight SSC win.

The Tigers spread out their offense, with six different players collecting hits. Gordon led the way with two RBIs, while Payton Topel, Joseph Larson, Ty Beck, Brody Rasmussen, and Brandon Lund each added a hit.
