FARMINGTON, Minn. – The top-seeded Farmington Tigers advanced to the Section 1A boys lacrosse semifinal with a commanding 15-3 victory over No. 8 seed Rochester on Wednesday night at Tiger Stadium. Behind a well-distributed offensive effort and a dominant performance in every phase, the Tigers took control early and never looked back.

Farmington jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the first quarter and steadily built on their advantage. By halftime, the Tigers led 5-2, then added three more in the third before closing with a seven-goal fourth quarter. The Tigers tallied 43 shots with 26 on goal, controlling 62.6% of possession and winning 16 of 22 face-offs.
Senior AJ Vinar led all scorers with four goals and one assist, while Caden Hennes added a hat trick and an assist of his own. Parker Nivala contributed two goals and two assists, and Ryder Anderson chipped in a goal and a helper. In total, 10 different Tigers recorded points in the win.
Farmington's defense was equally effective, limiting Rochester to six shots on goal and forcing 18 turnovers. The Tigers also collected 47 ground balls and completed 94.1% of their clear attempts.

Farmington (No. 1 seed) will face No. 4 seed Lakeville South in the Section 1A semifinal on Friday, May 30. Opening face-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
