FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers Girls Tennis team opened the 2025-26 athletics calendar with a home match against Northfield on Thursday afternoon. It also marked the debut of first-year head coach Jack Willis. Despite moments of strong play, the Tigers fell to the Raiders in the season opener.

Singles
- #1 Maia Richardson (Northfield) def. Maddie Johnson (Farmington), 6-1, 6-3
- #2 Sadie Spolarich (Farmington) match rained out 5-6 in first set
- #3 Addy Burggraaff (Farmington) def. Dalilah Toledo Amores (Northfield), 6-0, 6-2
- #4 Lindsey Clark (Northfield) def. Eliana Elvestad (Farmington), 6-2, 6-1
Doubles
Farmington's lone varsity win came from sophomore Addy Burggraaff, who delivered a dominant straight-set victory in the No. 3 singles slot. Senior Maddie Johnson showed fight at No. 1 singles in her season debut, winning several extended rallies despite the loss.
In doubles play, Farmington's lineups featured a mix of returning experience and newcomers, including freshman Kate Morehead and a trio of ninth-graders in the No. 3 pairing, gaining early-season varsity experience.
UP NEXT
The Tigers will remain at home to host Jordan on Tuesday, August 19. The match against the Jaguars is scheduled to begin at 4:45 p.m. at Farmington High School.
