Farmington High School Speech headed to Eagan for one of our toughest competitions of the season. Sophomore Ronan Greuel placed 4th out of 52 in Storytelling and an freshman Abbey Nelson placed 5th in the consolation finals of Poetry.
Alongside of the Eagan Tournament was the National Speech and Debate National Qualifying tournament. Farmington speech sent 4 competitors to the first round of competition on Friday. Senior Captain Ashlyn Cox made it all the way to the second day of competition and has qualified for the national tournament!!
Now that she has qualified, Ashlyn has the opportunity to compete in Louisville, Kentucky the week of June 13, 2022. Ashlyn consistently beat tough competitors from Eagan, Edina, Lakeville North, Winona Cotter, Rosemount, Wayzata, Bloomington Jefferson, Fairmont, and Twin Rivers, in the category of Dramatic Interpretation. The NSDA National Tournament is the longest running and highest prestige national speech and debate competition in the nation and Ashlyn's success places her as one of the top competitors in both the state and the nation in her category.
