Farmington, Minn - Jazz Bands Bring the BOPS Tonight in the FHS Recital Hall
The Farmington High School Jazz program is the largest curricular jazz band program in the state. With 90 students in the jazz program, FHS is proud to perform their fall concert featuring "All BOPS"! Learners take a zero hour class to participate in jazz so they arrive and are jamming at 7:00 am each morning!
According to Director Erin Holmes, "It has been such a fun fall of Jazz. The bands work so hard to bring the style and energy to the music. A lot of people wouldn't necessarily want to get up so early but these musicians are eager to begin their day and work hard. As an educator, it's so rewarding to work with humans that know the definition of hard work and passion."
Jazz Three will feature songs such as "Shallow" and "Stairway to Heaven", Jazz Two will be performing "Moondance" and "Welcome to the Jungle", while Jazz One will close with bit hits such as "You Can Call Me Al" and "The Incredibles". Associate Director of Bands, Bradley Mariska says "Jazz teaches creativity, independence, and personal expression. Smaller ensembles such as these groups teach us how to be in an ensemble while also being a soloist. This concert is something you don't want to miss!"
Please join us for a great night of music beginning at 6:30 pm featuring the 8th grade bands from Dodge Middle School, Boeckman Middle School, and Jazz Three, Two, and One from Farmington High School in the FHS Recital Hall. This concert will be streamed on the District 192 YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/live/s08htdDl9F8?si=p2jOzE5BZFkctTlS
