Tiger Baseball Goes Down On Final Play Against Mayo

It came down to the last play, but Farmington was on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat to Rochester Mayo on Friday. The game was tied at three with Rochester Mayo batting in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run for Rochester Mayo.

The Tigers lost despite out-hitting Rochester Mayo eight to five.

Rochester Mayo fired up the offense in the first inning, when Gasner singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Carlson got the start for Rochester Mayo. The bulldog allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out nine.

Owen Schmidt was on the mound for Farmington. The righty lasted four innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out six. Carter Giesen threw two and two-thirds innings in relief.

The Tigers totaled eight hits. Josh Bereth and Dillon Carlson all managed multiple hits for Farmington. Carlson and Bereth each collected two hits to lead the Tigers.

Regal went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Rochester Mayo in hits. Rochester Mayo didn't commit a single error in the field. Condon had 12 chances in the field, the most on the team.
