APPLE VALLEY, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers baseball team secured the 2026 South Suburban Conference Championship on Thursday night with an 11-1 victory over Apple Valley. The Tigers used a seven-run fifth inning to pull away and close out the regular season with a 21-1 overall record and a 17-1 mark in SSC play.
The conference title marks Farmington's first SSC championship since 2024 after finishing as conference runner-up in 2025.
RECAP
Farmington opened the scoring in the top of the first inning when Beck lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home the game's first run.
The Tigers extended their lead in the third inning as Beck delivered an RBI single to make it 3-0.
Farmington broke the game open in the fifth inning, plating seven runs on a string of timely hits. Renwick started the rally with an RBI double before Hilden added an RBI single. Keppler followed with a two-run single, while Oistad delivered another two-run single later in the inning. Farmington also added a run on a fielder's choice to cap the offensive surge.
Hilden added to the lead in the sixth inning with a solo home run to right field.
Oistad earned the win on the mound for Farmington, allowing one run on one hit over four innings while striking out three. Blomquist provided two scoreless innings in relief, allowing one hit and walking one.
The Tigers finished with 13 hits in the victory. Keppler and Renwick each collected three hits, while Beck, Oistad, Hilden, and Keppler all drove in two runs apiece. Farmington also played clean defense, turning one double play and committing no errors. Keppler led the defensive effort with nine putouts.
Apple Valley received hits from Noland and Britt, while Chamberlain recorded the Eagles' lone RBI.
