FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers are set to return to the MSHSL Class AAAA State Baseball Tournament and will open quarterfinal play as the No. 4 seed. Farmington will take on No. 5 seed Edina on Wednesday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m. at CHS Field in St. Paul, home of the St. Paul Saints.
The Tigers (19-5 overall, 14-4 South Suburban Conference) enter the tournament as the Section 1AAAA champions following a 7-0 shutout victory over Rochester Century. With consistent pitching, solid team defense, and a balanced lineup, Farmington has been one of the state's most complete teams down the stretch.
Edina (17-7 overall, 7-5 Lake Conference) advanced to the tournament as the Section 6AAAA champion after a narrow 2-1 win over Wayzata in their final. The Hornets are battle-tested from one of the state's toughest conferences.
This quarterfinal matchup features two experienced rosters with strong postseason résumés. The winner will advance to the semifinals on Thursday, June 12 at CHS Field.
