The Farmington Tigers (2-1, 2-0 SSC) took home a 7-2 victory over the Eagan Wildcats on Monday.
Eagan evened things up at two in the bottom of the third inning when Will Huseman's sac fly scored one run for the Wildcats.
Farmington pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth,
Dillon Carlson drew a walk, scoring one run and
Sawyer Hoffman drew a walk, scoring one run.
The Tigers notched three runs in the seventh inning.
Luke Walton had an RBI home run in the inning to lead the run scoring.
Owen Schmidt earned the win for Farmington. Schmidt lasted five innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out eight.
Carter Giesen threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Giesen recorded the last six outs to earn the save for the Tigers.
Danny Lachenmayer toed the rubber for Eagan. Lachenmayer went three and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on two hits and striking out seven. Luke Roiger and Ryder Lightenberg entered the game as relief, throwing two and a third innings and one inning respectively.
Farmington socked one home run on the day. Walton had a dinger in the seventh inning.
Kelin Rasmussen went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Tigers in hits.
Eagan tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Elias New led the way with two.
