Farmington watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 8-0 loss to Rosemount on Wednesday. The Irish scored on a single by Carter Thiessen in the first inning and a error in the second inning.
The Tigers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Rosemount, giving up eight runs.
In the first inning, Rosemount got their offense started. Thiessen singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
One bright spot for the Tigers was a single by
Kelin Rasmussen in the second inning.
Thiessen was on the pitcher's mound for Rosemount. Thiessen went six and a third innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out six.
Brandon Lund toed the rubber for the Tigers. Lund lasted two innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out two.Â
Dylan McClure and
Kobe Young entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and a third innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.
Rasmussen led Farmington with one hit in two at bats.
Thiessen went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Irish in hits. Rosemount was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Caden Hegarty made the most plays with  seven.
