Tiger Baseball Overcomes Lakers In Face Of Early 5-Run Inning

Farmington, Minn. - Even though the Tigers gave up five runs in the first inning, they still defeated the Prior Lake Lakers 8-7 on Thursday at Tiger 1. 

The offensive firepower by Prior Lake was led by Cole Sprecher, Hayden Anthony,  Jaxson Barrett, and Noah Slates, all driving in runs in the inning.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Farmington collected nine hits and Prior Lake seven in the high-scoring affair.

In the first inning, Prior Lake got their offense started. Sprecher doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Farmington pulled away for good with six runs in the fourth inning. Sawyer Hoffman singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Kelin Rasmussen singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Luke Rice singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Luke Walton's sac fly scored one run for the Tigers, Marshall Gordon singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, and an error scored one run for.

Rasmussen earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Farmington. The pitcher went four innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out six. Ethan Bombardier threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Matthew Totten led things off on the mound for the Lakers. Totten went three and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits and striking out six. Blake Helberg threw two and a third innings out of the bullpen.

Carter Giesen started the game for Farmington. The righty surrendered five runs on three hits over one-third of an inning.

Farmington had nine hits in the game. Walton and Ethen Stender all had multiple hits for the Tigers. Stender and Walton each collected two hits to lead Farmington.

Jaeger Solis led Prior Lake with two hits in two at bats.
