Farmington, Minn. - Farmington Baseball lost the lead late in an 8-2 defeat to Rosemount on Wednesday.
The game was tied at two with Rosemount batting in the top of the fifth when Carter Thiessen singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Farmington struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the Varsity, giving up eight runs.
In the bottom of the third inning, Farmington tied things up at two when
Kelin Rasmussen singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Thiessen led things off on the hill for Rosemount. The pitcher allowed four hits and two runs over five and a third innings, striking out nine.
Sawyer Hoffman was on the hill for the Tigers. The pitcher lasted four and a third innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out nine.
Dillon Carlson and
Dylan McClure entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
Rasmussen led Farmington with two hits in three at bats.
Will Harder went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Rosemount in hits.
