Lakeville, Minn. - Farmington defeated Lakeville South 4-1 on Monday, May 1 thanks to a strong start.
The Tigers scored on a single by
Sawyer Hoffman in the first inning, a error in the second inning, and a double by
Ethan Stender in the second inning.
Lakeville South knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning. An error scored one run for the Cougars.
Farmington pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second, an error scored one run for the Tigers and Stender doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Hoffman pitched Farmington to victory. The pitcher allowed one hit and one run over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking one.
Ian Segna led things off on the hill for Lakeville South. The righty lasted four innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out five and walking one. Brandon Witter threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
