Burnsville, Minn. - The Farmington baseball team knocked in 12 runs in the first on its way to a 16-1 victory over the Burnsville Blaze on Thursday.
The offensive firepower by Farmington was led by
Tanner Rezny,
Dillon Carlson, Ethen Stender,
Kelin Rasmussen, Josh Bereth, and
Luke Walton, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
In the first inning, Farmington got their offense started when Rezny singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Cyrus Elrod was credited with the victory for the Tigers. The hurler surrendered one run on four hits over five innings, striking out six.
Collin Heckman toed the rubber for Burnsville. The righty allowed eight runs on four hits. Bryce Soberski, Cole Sieben, Eli Keirstead, and Ben Woelfel each entered the game as relief, throwing two innings, one inning, one inning, and one inning respectively.
Farmington tallied ten hits.
Sawyer Hoffman, Stender, and Rezny all collected multiple hits for the Tigers. Rezny, Stender, and Hoffman each managed two hits to lead Farmington.
