Baseball Falls to Eastview, 6-3

Apple Valley, Minn. - Farmington baseball fell 6-3 to the Eastview Lightning on Wednesday despite out-hitting them seven to three.

Eastview opened up scoring in the first inning, when Nick Brandt singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

In the top of the second inning, Farmington tied things up at two when Sawyer Hoffman was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

The Lightning pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Louis Rogers singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Joey Garofano led things off on the pitcher's mound for Eastview. Garofano surrendered two runs on five hits over two innings, striking out three and walking one.

Owen Schmidt was on the pitcher's mound for Farmington. The righthander lasted four innings, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out four.  Kelin Rasmussen threw two innings out of the bullpen.

Josh Bereth led the Tigers with three hits in four at bats.

Eastview didn't commit a single error in the field. Ezra Formaneck had  seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
