Tiger Baseball Season Ends In Section 1 AAAA Tournament

Dundas, Minn. - The #3 seeded Farmington Tigers saw their 2023 campaign come to a close in Dundas on Saturday as the team battled Rochester Century and Rochester Mayo in elimination games.

Game 1 - Farmington (5), Rochester Century (3)
Farmington defeated Century Varsity Panthers 5-3 on Saturday.

Century fired up the offense in the second inning, when.

The Tigers pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Dillon Carlson singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Sawyer Hoffman was the winning pitcher for Farmington. Hoffman went six and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out eight. Cyrus Elrod threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Ryan Ohm was on the hill for the Panthers. The righty lasted five innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out five. Jack Eustice threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Farmington collected 11 hits on the day.  Hoffman, Luke Walton, Carlson, and Kelin Rasmussen each managed multiple hits for the Tigers . Hoffman went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Farmington in hits. The Tigers didn't commit a single error in the field. Tanner Rezny had  seven chances in the field, the most on the team.

Peyton Milene led Century with two hits in three at bats.

Game 2 - Farmington (1), Rochester Mayo (8)
Farmington couldn't keep up with Rochester Mayo and fell 8-1 on Saturday.

Regal led things off on the mound for Rochester Mayo.The fireballer went four innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out six.

Cyrus Elrod was on the hill for Farmington. Elrod allowed seven hits and six runs over three and a third innings, striking out two. Ethan Bombardier, Dylan McClure, and Carter Giesen each contributed in relief for the Tigers.

Tanner Rezny, Payton Reuter, Kelin Rasmussen, Connor Hennen, and Luke Walton all had one hit to lead Farmington.

Rochester Mayo had 12 hits in the game. Kober, Regal, Sadowy, and Gasner all collected multiple hits for Rochester Mayo. Kober led Rochester Mayo with three hits in four at bats. Rochester Mayo didn't commit a single error in the field. Gasner had  seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
