Chad Olson, RJ Rappe To Be Inducted Into Farmington High School Hall of Fame

Farmington, Minn. - The Farmington High School activities department has announced its 2023 Hall of Fame class, which includes two individuals that will be inducted during an on-campus ceremony on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

The 2023 class includes:
  • Chad Olson (Football, Wrestling, Baseball, 1991-95)
  • RJ Rappe (Soccer, Swim & Dive, Track & Field, 2000-04)
Ceremonies
The celebration of the Class of 2023 will take place during Farmington High School's Homecoming Week (October 2-7).

The festivities will begin on Wednesday, October 4 with the inductees riding in the 2023 Homecoming Parade.

The Class of 2023 will also receive special recognition at the Homecoming football game, which includes a private event on the balcony in Tiger Stadium hosted by the Tiger Fan Club. The inductees will also be recognized on the sideline before the football game.

Finally, the celebration will conclude with the 2023 Farmington High School Hall of Fame banquet hosted at FHS on Saturday, October 7 at 11:00 am. The event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

2023 Farmington High School Hall of Fame Inductees
Chad Olson (Class of 1995)
Three sport athlete participating in football, wrestling, and baseball... two-time baseball letter winner, three-time letter winner in football, all-conference and all-metro honorable mention in football... wrestling career stands at 153-58 and is a six-year letter winner... academic all-state in wrestling... honored with the MN Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar of the Year in 1995... 4A runner-up in 1992, 4A champion in 1994 and 1995, three-time state wrestling tournament participant placing 3rd in 1995... Lions Club Senior Athlete of the Year in 1995... Wrestled at Augsburg College and was a three-time letter winner in both wrestling and football... academic all-American in wrestling... Currently, Chad coaches and teaches at Farmington High School serving as the head coach in wrestling and assistant football coach... MN Wrestling Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2015... Team region championships in 2015 and 2016... Career record stands at 165-160.

RJ Rappe (Class of 2004)
Three-sport athlete participating in Soccer, Swim & Dive, and Track & Field... two-time Soccer Captain receiving All-Conference and Team MVP honors in 2004... Captain of the Track & Field team, earned both Conference and Section Championships in 2004 in Pole Vault... RJ earned a 9th place finish in Pole Vault at the MSHSL State Meet and still holds the FHS School Record in Pole Vault... four-time Team Captain in Swim & Dive, five-time School Record holder, current School Record holder in 6-dive event at FHS... five-time All-Conference and All-State... Section 1A Champion in 2003 and 2004 and Class A State Champion in 2004...  two-time All-American in 2003 and 2004... Farmington High School Athlete of the Year in 2004... Attended the University of Massachusetts-Amherst on a Diving scholarship... Team Captain and Team MVP at U Mass in 2008... four-time Conference Champion in 1-meter Diving and a Conference Champion once in 3-meter diving.

The purpose of the Farmington High School Athletics, Arts, and Activities Hall of Fame is to recognize and honor those students, coaches, advisors, administrators, and supporters who excelled in their respective sport or activity. Hall of Fame members distinguished themselves by bringing honor, recognition, distinction, and excellence to Farmington High School by their conduct both in their sport or activity as well as in the community.
