SHAKOPEE, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers girls swimming and diving team faced a tough challenge on Thursday night, ultimately falling to the Shakopee Sabers by a score of 101.5 to 76.5 at the Kathy Carlson Aquatic Center. Despite the loss, the Tigers had several strong performances across multiple events.

The varsity 200-yard medley relay team of Micaela Cardoza, Taylor Gergen, Mikaela Udell, and Mikayla Gabrielson placed second, finishing with a time of 1:59.19.
In individual events, Taylor Gergen took second place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:18.58, and Mikaela Udell placed first in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 1:06.49. Gergen also won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.48, while Micaela Cardoza claimed second in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:06.83. In diving, Finn Samuell led the Tigers with a fourth-place finish, scoring 144.10 points.
The Tigers capped off the meet with a first-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, as the team of Cardoza, Gergen, Gabrielson, and Udell clocked in at 3:57.63.

UP NEXT
The Tigers will turn their attention to a home meet against SSC-foe Rosemount on Thursday, October 10. The meet will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Dodge Middle School pool in Farmington.
