Baseball Improves To 8-0 With 8-5 Victory Over Eagan

Box Score Eagan, Minn. -- In a Wednesday night SSC showdown at Eagan High School, the Farmington Tigers clashed with the Eagan Wildcats in a high-stakes baseball game.

The Tigers, boasting an undefeated record of 7-0, aimed to maintain their perfect streak against the Wildcats.

The Wildcats came out swinging in the bottom of the 1st inning, launching a powerful home run, driving in 2 runs to put Eagan up 2-0 early in the game. However, the Tigers quickly responded in the top of the 2nd inning when Mashall Gordon's ground ball led to an error at shortstop, allowing Josh Berreth to score and narrowing the gap to 2-1.

The Tigers continued their offensive push in the top of the 3rd inning, capitalizing on a wild pitch as Dalton Kesti crossed the plate to tie the game at 2-2. But the Wildcats quickly regained the lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning, with a single driving in a run putting Eagan ahead 3-2.

Not to be outdone, the Tigers fought back in the top of the 4th inning, as Dillon Carlson's sacrifice fly to left field brought in Joe Baldus, tying the score once again at 3-3.

The back-and-forth battle continued in the top of the 5th inning, with the Tigers taking a 5-3 lead thanks to a bases-loaded walk drawn by Baldus and a sacrifice fly by Connor Hennen.

However, the Wildcats refused to back down, clawing their way back to tie the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the 7th inning with a sacrifice fly.

With the game hanging in the balance, the Tigers seized control in the top of the 8th inning, as Hennen scored on a wild pitch and Brandon Lund's sacrifice fly drove in Brock Boyles, giving Farmington a 7-5 lead.

A clutch single by Tanner Rezny extended the Tigers' lead to 8-5, securing their eighth consecutive victory of the season and maintaining their undefeated record.
