The game unfolded with both teams exchanging offensive blows in the early stages. Owatonna took an early lead, ending the first quarter with a 3-2 advantage. However, Farmington surged ahead in the second quarter, capitalizing on scoring opportunities to seize control of the match. With a remarkable offensive outburst, the Tigers piled on seven goals in the second quarter alone, heading into halftime with a commanding 9-5 lead.
Despite Owatonna's efforts to stage a comeback, Farmington maintained their composure and defensive solidity throughout the game. The Tigers managed to keep the Huskies at bay, limiting their scoring opportunities and preserving their lead.Â
