Rosemount, Minn. -- In an electrifying SSC matchup on Friday night, the Farmington Tigers boys lacrosse team secured an historic win over Rosemount, clinching a narrow 8-7 victory. This triumph not only extended Farmington's undefeated streak to an impressive 9-0 on the season but also marked the first time in program history that they have bested the Rosemount squad.
The game kicked off with both teams trading blows in the first quarter, each notching two goals apiece. Farmington's offensive prowess was led by standout performances from Jack Rosa and Tommy Lund, who each contributed two goals, with Rosa adding an assist to his tally. Henry Ulrick also made his mark on the scoreboard with two crucial goals, while Parker Nivala and Caden Hennes each added one goal to the team's total.
Despite facing a relentless Rosemount offense, Farmington's defensive unit, anchored by Hayden Houghton in goal, held firm, limiting their opponents to just seven goals. Houghton recorded an impressive 13 saves throughout the game, maintaining a solid .650 save percentage.
Rosemount put up a valiant effort, led by Connor Schauer and Ryan Blaszczak, who contributed two goals apiece, while Payton Sickel showcased his playmaking abilities with three assists. However, it wasn't enough to overcome Farmington's determined squad.
