Farmington, Minn. -- The Farmington Tigers secured a 6-4 victory over the Rosemount Irish on Senior Night, concluding their South Suburban Conference schedule with an impressive 16-2 record.
With this win, the Tigers clinched the conference championship, a title they last held in 2022 before finishing fourth in 2023. The Tigers' season will wrap up next week with an away game at Rogers.
In a game marked by early dominance, Farmington capitalized on key performances and defensive errors by their opponents. Josh Berreth set the tone, leading off for the Tigers and contributing significantly with a two-hit night, driving in three runs. Kelin Rasmussen added to the offense with an RBI and sealed the victory with a spectacular leaping grab at third base.
Pitcher Brodie Gibart delivered a strong performance, earning his second win of the season. Gibart allowed three runs over five innings while striking out three batters. The Tigers took full advantage of four errors committed by the Irish defense to maintain their lead throughout the game.
