Tigers Suffer Season's First Loss At Lakeville North

Lakeville, Minn. -- In a closely contested matchup, the Farmington Tigers suffered their first loss of the season, falling to the Lakeville North Panthers by a score of 12-11. This game had significant implications for section seeding, with the Tigers now most likely to earn the #2 seed in the Section 1 tournament.

The Tigers started strong, taking an early 4-3 lead at the end of the first quarter. They maintained their momentum into the second quarter, extending their lead to 9-6 by halftime. However, the Panthers rallied in the third quarter, outscoring Farmington 4-1 to tie the game at 10-10 heading into the final period. Lakeville North sealed the victory with two goals in the fourth quarter, while Farmington managed just one.

Farmington's offense was led by Henry Ulrick, who scored four goals and added an assist. Tommy Lund contributed two goals, while Jack Rosa, Parker Nivala, and AJ Vinar each scored twice. Despite their efforts, the Tigers could not withstand the balanced attack of Lakeville North, spearheaded by Blake Piscitiello's six goals and two assists. Carson Piscitiello added two goals and two assists, and Jackson Whalen netted three goals.

In goal, Farmington's Hayden Houghton faced 29 shots, making 17 saves for a .586 save percentage. Lakeville North's Tate Bouman made 11 saves on 22 shots for a .500 save percentage.

With this loss, Farmington's record now stands at 11-1 overall and 5-1 in the South Suburban Conference. The Tigers will look to regroup and finish the regular season strong as they prepare for the upcoming section tournament.
