Farmington, MN - The Farmington Tigers hosted the 8-3 Rosemount Irish, an in-system scrappy team with a huge outside. Early in the first set both teams exchanged punch for punch with kills. The Tigers were able to edge the Irish 25-18 with a Cole Wilcek ace to finish.Â
In set two, Farmington took an early lead 13-6 forcing a Rosemount timeout. From that point the Tigers continued to push, expanding their lead to 22-13 before an Irish run of their own. The Irish fell in set two 17-25.
Farmington, who has played a number of five set matches this season, were determined to finish this in three. The Tigers were able to defend their gym winning set three 25-17 and the match 3-0.
The Tigers were led in kills by Cole Wilcek, collecting 10. Bergen Miller had another exceptional night with 9 kills while Tyler Beckwith tallied 8. TJ Martin contributed 3 aces, Alex Afanasyev and Andrew Kaliev were digging everything, and Isaac Albrecht had the most well-rounded game in his career.Â
