Tigers Lacrosse Splits With South; Boys Stay Unbeaten

Farmington, Minn. -- It was a double header split for Farmington on Tuesday against Lakeville South as the women fell to the undefeated Cougars 17-3, yet the undefeated Tiger boys would take out the Cougs 15-6.

The girls scored the opening goal of the match with Captain Caprese Meier and seemingly set the tone for the match, but the Cougars responded with three unanswered goals and refused to look back.

Meier led the way with two goals while Jayda Steffes netted the third and Riley Wicklund added an assist. The Tigers have now dropped two straight.

Contrary to the first game of the double header, the Tiger boys conceded the first goal of the game after a sluggish start.

The Tigers woke up in the second quarter as they tallied six goals while Hayden Houghton anchored a shutout quarter in between the pipes. After leading 7-3 at halftime, the Tigers would go on to cruise to their eighth-straight victory to start the season. AJ Vinar was on fire with five goals and Jack Rosa scored four goals.
