One Act Play

Farmington High School's One Act Play Presents Two Captivating Productions!

FARMINGTON, Minn. -- Each year, Farmington High School participates in the MSHSL One Act Play competition, an annual event showcasing short theatrical performances judged on acting, directing, and technical execution. This prestigious competition celebrates creativity, storytelling, and student talent both on and off the stage. This year, FHS proudly presents two original plays, both written by a talented FHS student!

WHAT IS WALTER CLAYTON?
Imagine the pain of losing a loved one—then being offered the chance to bring them back, but at a profound cost. This is the moral and emotional dilemma faced by the Clayton family in Walter Clayton, an original One Act drama written by an FHS student and chosen for competition.

Exploring themes of grief, sacrifice, and the weight of impossible choices, the play challenges characters and audience alike to confront what they value most. A departure from the comedic tradition of recent years at FHS, Walter Clayton ventures into an alternate reality where the stakes are as high as the emotions.

AND CACTUS WHAT???
Also written by an FHS student, Cactus Juice transports audiences to the rugged wild west of the 1840s, where justice and lawlessness collide.

This story centers on a local marshal and his deputy brother, who capture two notorious outlaws and celebrate their success with a long-awaited barrel of fermented cactus juice. But as the drinks flow, so does chaos—will the lawmen stay sharp enough to keep their prisoners in check, or will the outlaws turn the tables? This western-themed One Act combines suspense, humor, and a hint of mischief, promising an unpredictable showdown under the desert sun.
