Tigers Dominate Blaze in Straight Sets for Second Win of the Week

FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers hosted the Burnsville Blaze in South Suburban Conference play Thursday night, riding momentum from a key road win earlier in the week. Burnsville, looking to recover from a 0-3 loss to Shakopee, struggled to keep pace with the Tigers' energy and execution.

Farmington came out firing, jumping to an early 9-2 lead in the opening set and forcing an early timeout from the Blaze. Brayden Kemmet set the tone in the middle, consistently overpowering Burnsville's block. The Tigers never looked back, taking the first set decisively, 25-11.

The second set proved to be more competitive, with both teams knotted at 8-8 early on. But a balanced offensive attack from Braden Woody, Mason Kemmet, and Isaac Albrecht allowed the Tigers to pull away. A key service error by Burnsville sealed the set, 25-16, giving Farmington a 2-0 lead.

Set three turned into the Brayden Kemmet show, as he delivered the second-most kills in a match by a Tiger since Cole Wilcek's standout performance in 2023. With Farmington leading 22-15 after a powerful kill from Andrew Kaliev, Woody stepped to the service line and delivered three straight aces to cap the match with a 25-15 win.

The Tigers secured the sweep, 3-0, continuing their strong form in conference play.
