ST. MICHAEL, Minn. – The Farmington High School boys and girls track and field teams turned in strong performances in the preliminaries of the MSHSL Class AAA State Track and Field Championships held June 10-12 at St. Michael-Albertville High School. With several standout efforts, the Tigers secured places in multiple event finals scheduled for June 12 at 3:30 p.m.
RECAP
On the girls side, Vanessa Oguamanam advanced to the finals in the 400-meter dash, finishing fourth overall in prelims with a time of 56.17 seconds. She also posted a competitive mark in the 200-meter dash (25.52), narrowly missing advancement. Lauren Lansing continued her stellar season by qualifying for the 800-meter final with a time of 2:10.32, ranking fifth overall in a tightly contested field.
In the girls 4x400-meter relay, Farmington's team of Macie Henrickson, Taylor Risch, Lansing, and Oguamanam finished in 4:08.45. While outside finals qualification, the group capped the prelims with a strong effort. In field events, senior Jada Henrikson competed in the discus but recorded no mark after fouling on all attempts.
On the boys side, Daniel Sather represented Farmington in the 100-meter dash, posting a time of 11.19. While he did not advance to the final round, his performance capped a successful season at the state level.

Farmington athletes who qualified will return to the track on Wednesday, June 12, for the MSHSL Class AAA finals beginning at 3:30 p.m. at St. Michael-Albertville High School.
