FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington High School girls swimming and diving team opened the 2025 season with a 106-76 victory over the Northfield Raiders on Thursday night at Levi Dodge Middle School. The meet marked the debut of first-year head coach Sam Kendall, who guided the Tigers to a well-rounded performance across individual events and relays.

Farmington started strong by winning the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:58.10. That relay team featured Micaela Cardoza, Taylor Gergen, Alyssa Bower, and Mikaela Udell. Udell followed up with an individual win in the 200 freestyle (2:05.43) and later added a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle (5:35.03). Emma Klose and Harper Hoppe chipped in fourth and fifth-place points in the 200 freestyle.
The Tigers swept the top two spots in the 200 individual medley, with Parker Risch (2:21.39) and Alyssa Bower (2:21.49) leading the way. Fiona Frick added a fourth-place finish. In the 50 freestyle, Claire Duellman touched first in 27.36 seconds, followed closely by Claire Akolly in third and Leah Warmka in fifth.
Farmington controlled the diving competition with a 1-2-3 finish. Finn Samuell scored 151.80 points for the win, while Claire Gergen and Brooke Kunz secured the next two spots. Gergen returned to take first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:01.40. Akolly and Chelsea Graw added key points in that event, placing fourth and sixth.
Cardoza delivered another strong swim in the 100 freestyle, finishing first in 56.61. Duellman placed second and Warmka added a fourth-place effort. In the 500 freestyle, Bower finished second behind Udell, while Hoppe took fifth. Klose also swam the event as an exhibition, posting a time of 6:13.50.
The Tigers continued their relay success with the fastest time in the 200 freestyle relay, clocking a 1:46.36. That group included Duellman, Risch, Gergen, and Udell. Cardoza claimed another individual win in the 100 backstroke (1:06.12), while Frick and Sasha Folland finished third and fourth.
Though swum as an exhibition, Farmington posted the top time in the 400 freestyle relay (3:58.52) to close the meet.
