FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers girls swimming and diving team came up just short in a competitive South Suburban Conference dual meet on Tuesday night, falling to Rochester Century 95-85 at the Dodge Middle School pool.

Farmington opened strong in the 200-yard medley relay, with the A relay team of Micaela Cardoza, Parker Risch, Taylor Gergen, and Mikaela Udell combining for a second-place finish in 1:57.81.
In individual events, Taylor Gergen turned in a strong night with a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle (2:03.49) and a first-place effort in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.13). Parker Risch followed closely in the breaststroke, finishing second in 1:13.26, and added a third-place finish in the 200 IM. Udell picked up key points with a fourth-place finish in the 200 IM and later returned to win the 100 backstroke in 1:03.90.
Cardoza led the Tigers in sprint events, placing third in the 50 freestyle and winning the 100 freestyle in 56.31. Claire Duellman and Leah Warmka also contributed in the freestyle sprints, finishing fourth and fifth respectively in the 100.
Alyssa Bower added second-place finishes in both the 200 freestyle (2:03.75) and 100 butterfly (1:04.84), while Emma Klose and Harper Hoppe rounded out scoring in the fly.
In diving, Brooke Kunz led Farmington with a third-place finish (143.90), followed closely by Finn Samuell (143.55) and Claire Gergen (137.20), who took fourth and sixth respectively.
Farmington's A relay of Bower, Hoppe, Fiona Frick, and Udell placed first in the 400 freestyle relay (4:05.18), capping off a strong performance despite the team result. The Tigers also earned points from several JV contributors, including first-place finishes by Masha Nedrega (200 free), Emma Dahl (diving), and Lila Alme (100 breaststroke).
UP NEXT
The Tigers return to the Dodge Middle School pool on Thursday, September 18, when they host Prior Lake. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
