Girls Swim & Dive Improves to 2-0 With 99-87 Victory Over Apple Valley

FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers girls swimming and diving team picked up their second win of the season on Thursday night, defeating South Suburban Conference opponent Apple Valley 99-87 in a home meet at the Dodge Middle School pool. The Tigers delivered a strong all-around performance in both varsity and junior varsity events to remain unbeaten early in the season.

Farmington opened the meet with several top-three relay finishes and kept up the momentum across all events. In the 200-yard freestyle, Tiger swimmers claimed the top three spots, led by a first-place finish in 2:04.93. The Tigers also swept the podium in the 200-yard IM with strong swims from three teammates, including a winning time of 2:15.81.

In the sprint freestyle events, Farmington placed second and third in the 50-yard freestyle, and earned another sweep of the top three in the 100-yard freestyle, paced by a second-place time of 55.29. The Tigers were also dominant in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing first, second, and sixth in the event.

Diving contributed valuable points, as four Farmington athletes placed in the top seven, including third- and fourth-place finishes.

In the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard breaststroke, the Tigers took the top two spots in both events, highlighted by times of 1:00.79 and 1:13.71, respectively. The team also took first in the final event of the night, the 400-yard freestyle relay, with a time of 3:47.95 to seal the victory.

UP NEXT
The Tigers will travel to Burnsville on Thursday, September 4, for a 6:00 p.m. meet against the Blaze.
