FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington girls swim and dive team came up just six points shy in a back-and-forth meet against South Suburban Conference rival Prior Lake, falling 96-90 on Thursday night at the Dodge Middle School pool.

The Tigers opened the meet with a strong showing in the 200-yard medley relay, taking first place behind the team of Micaela Cardoza, Taylor Gergen, Alyssa Bower, and Mikaela Udell with a time of 1:57.91. Cardoza and Gergen continued to pace Farmington individually, with Cardoza winning the 200 freestyle (2:01.88) and placing third in the 500 freestyle (5:32.40), while Gergen took first in both the 200 IM (2:15.18) and 100 breaststroke (1:08.42).
In the sprint events, Parker Risch won the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.50 and added a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.82). Udell also delivered a runner-up finish in the 100 backstroke (1:03.86) and second in the 100 freestyle (55.78), while Bower earned individual victories in the 100 butterfly (1:04.71) and a runner-up finish in the 500 freestyle (5:30.20).
The meet came down to the final event, the 400 freestyle relay. Farmington's top relay of Cardoza, Bower, Udell, and Gergen posted a winning time of 3:46.16, but the overall team score remained just out of reach as Prior Lake's earlier depth helped secure the narrow win.
