The previously unbeaten, #2 ranked Shakopee Sabers are unbeaten no more. Boys Basketball hosted Shakopee on Monday, January 17 in a major SSC showdown between two of the conference's contenders. Farmington beat Shakopee 74-73 to improve to 7-5 overall, 4-1 in SSC play.
In a fast-paced first-half, Farmington out-scored the Sabers 46-43 to lead at the break. In the second-half, Farmington would lose a 10-point lead midway through the half resulting in an exciting final few minutes of the game. Shakopee earned a 73-72 lead with under one minute to play. Senior
Zach Cochnauer was fouled and sent to the free throw line with :13 left to play in the game. Unaffected by the pressure, Cochnauer sank both free throws giving the Tigers the 74-73 lead. A final defensive stand sealed the deal.
The Tigers shot exceptionally well on Monday night hitting 50% of their shots from 3-point land and shooting 49% from the field. The scoring load was well distributed as well.

Brendan Ebel all scored 16 points.
Sam Hoffman earned 14 points of his own. Other Tiger offensive contributers included
