The #6 Farmington Tigers battled #3 Lakeville South to the last point in the Section 1AAAA quarterfinal match.
Farmington overcame a sluggish start after losing set one 12-25. The Tigers bounced back to take a thriller in set two winning 32-30.
The Tigers pulled off a major set-three comeback after trailing 18-6 to win set number three 27-25 to take a 2-1 lead.
Lakeville South earned the victory in the fourth set 23-25 to force set five. Despite their best effort, the Tigers came up short falling 13-15, 2-3.
Farmington was the only Section 1 AAAA team to win a set in a quarterfinal match.
As a team, the Tigers hit .193 recording 76 digs, 6 blocks, 6 aces, and 53 kills.
The 2022 Tigers finished the season 11-17, 4-5 SSC. Farmington's 4th place finish in the SSC is it's highest since joining the South Suburban Conference.
