Owatonna, Minn. -- Girls basketball opened up the 2023-24 season with a comeback win over Section 1 AAAA opponent, Owatonna, on Tuesday night earning a 64-60 win.
The Tigers trailed 21-29 at halftime, their largest deficit of the night. Farmington picked up the pace to begin the second half immediately erasing the deficit with a 10-0 run to start the half. Owatonna battled back briefly in the middle of the second half, however, Farmington played strong through the end of the contest.
Carly Olson was the scoring leader for Farmington on Tuesday night netting 14 points. Olson was 7 for 9 from the field (77.8%).
Ashley Harrison scored 12 points on the night that included two three point shots.
Hannah Hansen and
Gianna Carpentier scored 11 points on the night and
Bailey Garrahy scored 10.

The Tigers (1-0, 0-0 SSC) are back in action in another non-conference match-up on Thursday, November 30 when they welcome another Section 1 AAAA opponent, the Rochester Mayo Spartans, to FHS. Mayo is 1-1 on the season and is coming off a 51-70 loss to Chaska on November 25 at the Pat Paterson Tournament hosted by Hamline University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
