SHAKOPEE, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers dropped their South Suburban Conference opener Tuesday night, falling 54-44 to the Shakopee Sabers at Shakopee High School. The loss moves the Tigers to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in league play.

Farmington kept things competitive in the first half, trailing 26-15 at the break before closing the gap in the second. The Tigers outscored the Sabers 29-28 over the final two quarters, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
Despite an aggressive defensive effort that produced six steals and eight deflections, Farmington struggled offensively, finishing with a 30.6% effective field goal percentage and just 11.5% from three-point range (3-of-26). The Tigers shot 71.4% at the free-throw line (15-of-21), keeping them within reach late in the game.
