FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington High School girls basketball team secured its first victory of the 2025-26 season with a 74-66 win over Woodbury on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at Farmington High School. The win was the first under head coach Adam Huppert, who earned his first career victory in just his second game with the program.
RECAP
The Tigers jumped out to a 35-28 lead at the break and maintained their advantage with a 39-point second half. Farmington used a combination of defensive pressure and rebounding to gain the edge, forcing 23 turnovers and collecting 16 offensive rebounds in the win.
Despite a modest shooting night (38.1% from the field), Farmington outscored Woodbury 30-22 in the paint and converted 21-of-36 free throws. The Tigers also registered 15 assists and 12 steals as part of a high-effort defensive performance.
TOP TIGERS
- Ashley Harrison led all scorers with 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including two three-pointers and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. She added three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 29 minutes.
- Carly Olson scored 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting, grabbing three total rebounds and contributing two steals in 20 minutes on the floor.
- Ellie Peterson was active on both ends, scoring nine points while dishing out five assists, collecting three steals, and going 7-of-9 at the line.
- Scarlett Hedrick provided a strong presence inside with eight points, six rebounds, and two steals. She recorded a team-best +18 in plus-minus over 18 minutes of play.
- Ayla Kroener added eight points off the bench, hitting both of her three-point attempts and finishing a perfect 5-for-5 from the line.
- Olivia Schommer filled the stat sheet with five points, three rebounds, three steals, and four deflections, contributing in 20 high-energy minutes.
UP NEXT
Farmington (1-1) returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 2, when the Tigers host Edina in a non-conference matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Farmington High School.
