Farmington, Minn. -- Another thriller in Farmington tonight as the Tigers outlasted Rochester Century 80-78 at home.
The season opener was tight all throughout the game as both teams were tied at 43 heading into halftime.
The Tigers led by as many as nine in the first half, but then the Panthers held a lead by eight late in the second half. The Tigers suffered a blow with two and a half minutes left in the game, when
Brandon Hrncir fouled out with 27 points on the night. The Tigers were still able to overcome the adversity through the Beckwith's. Tyler finished with 14 points and Ryan had an incredible 17 off the bench.
The game was tied at 78 after Ryan made two clutch free throws to tie the game with 22 seconds.
The shot clock was turned off, Century could have held for the final shot, but they rushed one that was off the mark with still ten seconds to spare.
Cole Wilcek ran the length of the floor and scored in transition with just four seconds left on the clock.
Century got a good look for the win from deep, but missed the shot and the Tigers escaped with the win.
